| Field Service Technician MA Open (J#28645) Education: Bachelors Degree Experience: 1 - 3 years Accutech Packaging, Inc. is a privately-held manufacturer and distributor of packaging products and machinery, based in Foxboro, MA. Summary of Position: Plans, coordinates and performs activities concerned with installing and repairing shrink packaging equipment, polybagger wrappers, carton erectors, case sealers, label applicators and stretch wrappers; investigating and resolving customer reports of technical problems with equipment, and eliminating future operational or service difficulties by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1.Communicates with customers, by phone and e-mail, to resolve problems and advice on troubleshooting and training issues. 3.Installs new or modified equipment at customer's facility to ensure full functionality according to specifications. 4.Inspects malfunctioning or damaged product to determine nature and scope of problem. 5.Analyzes review and inspection findings to determine source of problem, and recommends repair, replacement, or other corrective action. 6.Coordinates problem resolution with engineering, customer service, and other personnel to expedite repairs. 7.Provides on-site technical assistance to help troubleshoot and repair equipment. 8.Maintains records of work orders and service reports. 9.Provides a communication link between the customer and the company to help ensure that effective service is provided to the customer. 10.Develops and conducts training on the safe operations of the equipment and demonstrates skills to trainees, including both team members and customers. 11.Works on a team to assemble the Accutech packaging equipment. 12.Performs maintenance on Accutech Manufacturing and Packaging equipment. 13.Enters customer data and other data for current customers into computer database. 14.Develops and maintains relationships with customer contacts. 15.Local and out-of-state travel required up to 50% of the time. International travel for training is required. Must be flexible with travel schedule to address customer requirements. 16.Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources. 17.Complies with organizations policies and procedures and may be required to perform other duties as required. Education/Experience Requirements: Technical degree or 4 year Engineering Degree; and/or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Mechanical and electrical aptitude is required. Familiarity with pneumatics, control wiring and logic controllers. Experience servicing packaging equipment is preferred. Special Skills and Abilities Required: Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Math Ability: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of : PLC RS Logix 500, RS Lodix 5000, Automation Direct HMI Factory Talk, Panel Builder, Machine Shop CAD Solid Edge, Autocad PC Word, Excel, Project, Powerpoint Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. | |||
